Obituary of Ilonka "Helen" Rasula

RASULA, Ilonka ‘Helen’ Long-time owner of the Globe and Helen’s Coffee Shop, died peacefully in her 96th year on Thursday, November 17, 2016. Helen will be deeply missed by her children, George (Nina) and Nik (Karen), her grandchildren Tara (Anthony), Matthew (Divya), Brandon, Fiona, Carla, and her great-grandchildren Abigail, Madeline and Gabriella, her family the world over, and many friends and neighbours. She will be remembered for her loving nature, second-to-none culinary skills, and for her deep love and pride for her family. We would like to thank Dr. Jaskot, as well as the wonderful staff at both New Village and Macassa Lodge for the care and kindness she received in her later years. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Monday from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Helen’s Funeral will take place on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel.
