Obituary of Mervyn Charles Lewis

LEWIS, Mervyn Charles 1928-2016 With love in our hearts and memories to cherish, Mervyn passed away on December 30, 2016 in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Margaret (nee Harley) for 67 years. He leaves behind his son Alan (Theresa), daughters Kathie (Allan), and Shirley. He is also survived by his grandchildren Tanya (Meaghan), Brad (Cintia), Karyn (Morgan), Matt (Vanessa) and 3 great-grandchildren Kayla, Isabelle and Parker. Retired manager for the LCBO for 42 years. Papa enjoyed listening to his collection of music and was an avid Tiger Cats fan. He will be missed by our dear forever boating friends Sandy and Kent Darby. We wish to express our sincere thanks to Orchard Terrace Care Centre and staff for their kind and compassionate care. In keeping with Mervyn’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lung Association or Alzheimer’s Society would be sincerely appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 905-662-2948. In life we loved you dearly, In death, we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you. You did not go alone. For part of us went with you, The day God called you home. You left us beautiful memories, Your love is still our guide. And although we cannot see you, You are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, And nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again. You taught us all to enjoy life You taught us all to pray, We will never forget you.
