I am saddened to hear of John's passing. I am a DARTS driver and was always happy to see him on my schedule. I especially liked taking him to the bulldogs and ticats games, and he always had a can of pop in his cup holder. He was disgusted at me when I confessed to only drinking diet Pepsi lol. He will be missed by me and all the DARTS drivers.

Our sincere condolences in the loss of John. We were so shocked. He is sadly missed by MaryLou and will be missed by us also. We always enjoyed talking with John when we visited MaryLou and he acted as an interpreter for us cause MaryLou was so hard to understand. RIP John. All our Love. MaryLou's brother and sister-in-law.

My Dear Friend John.
I sit at my kitchen table, staring at a picture of you, patching this broken heart of mine with the cement of wonderful memories that we've shared. John Cecil, I have been a fan of yours since that very 1st day I met you so long ago. You are in my childhood memories . You were someone I always looked forward to seeing. You were Christmas to me. You always brought me joy, laughter, inspiration and cause for admiration. I remember the pride, joy, and excitement on your face when I got my drivers license, pulled up to P.H, loaded you in the car , threw your chair in the trunk, cranked the tunes and went cruisin . I remember my wedding day standing at the alter waiting for Barb, looking to the side and there you were, smiling. Kids came and you held them as babies, and you loved them as much as you loved us all. Pat and Katie both grew up seeing the same good humour, joking and sometimes unwarranted sarcasm that I saw, and we all came to know and love. You've never been a fan of animals, dogs especially and we ALWAYS had them. You put up with barking that made you jump, inappropriate sniffing, climb ups, being surrounded by dogs as you ate, and you still wanted to come to our house. What you'd put up with for a bbq or turkey dinner. Pizza was another weakness you had. We would surprise you with a pizza visits. The 1st time we came we went to your room ,set the pizzas on your bed and set out to find you. When we returned to your room, you and 3 friends had eaten 2 medium pizzas in a matter of minutes. I can just imagine the joy on your face finding them, not knowing where these pizzas came from, perhaps the pizza gods or a mistaken delivery driver. One thing was certain, they weren't goin back. John, you've taught me so many things, that I apply to my own life. They are first and foremost..FAMILY. .Theres strength and promise in family. Nothing else matters. BRAVERY AND TRUST.
You displayed this trait whenever we carried you up n down sketchy stairs and slippery hills. FACE ADVERSITY WITH QUITE DIGNITY. You displayed this trait whenever you were sick or worried about someone else who was sick or facing problems. You were never afraid to show your true emotions. Be it anger, fear, loneliness, saddness joy, laughter, love or being a pain in the ass, you showed it. You were never afraid to let people see who you were. People always got the real 100 % John Cecil, nothing fake,no additives or preservatives. Johnnie you've always had our backs, and it's been an extreme honour to have yours. 3 days ago at the hospital the doctor pulled me aside and said" Joel your brother is very sick ". I was going to correct him and tell him that were cousins ,but I didn't. . I thought for a second. Yes ..JOHN CECIL. .YOU ARE MY BROTHER ☺
I'M GOING TO MISS YOU MY FRIEND
I LOVE YOU LOTS JOHNNIE

Having been a volunteer and a staff member at PH I have many fond memories of John.
After I moved to a new position and would take my Mom to respite at PH John would greet me with the question 'What are you doing here' He will be truly missed by his fellow residents and all the staff and volunteers who he has shared his life with. Thoughts and prayers at this time Vivian Kinnear.
