Obituary of Justina "Jessie" Kruchuk

KRUCHUK, Justina “Jessie” Passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the age of 96 at Deer Park Villa, Grimsby. Born in Innwood, Manitoba to Alex and Anna Kowalchuk, she is predeceased by her husband of 40 years John (1982), son John Jr. (2000) and his wife, the late Susan Kruchuk, daughter Alexandra (1942), and son James (1950). Cherished mother of Millie Korpaski of Kelowna, B.C., Rita Ritchie (George) of Bowmanville, Ontario, Linda Armstrong of St. Catharines, Ontario, and Joan Tyios (Sinclair) of Burlington, Ontario. Beloved grandmother of Tania LeBlanc (Brian), Aaron, Adam and Karina Korpaski, Michelle Burke (the late Don Burke) and Denise McMaster (Scott), Jason Armstrong (Olena) and Tara Rossi (Jason), Julie Tyios, and Joe Tyios (Liz), and was a proud great-grandmother to 13 great-grandchildren. Survived by siblings Bill Kowalchuk of Winnipeg, Manitoba and Nellie Pitts of Picton, Ontario. Jessie is predeceased by brothers John, Nick, Pete, Mike, Steve, Harry, and sisters Mary, Stella, Jean, Kay. Jessie will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and close friend Adriana. The family would like to thank the staff at Deer Park for their kindness. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A service to celebrate Jessie’s life will take place on Wednesday, January 18, 2016 in the Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington.
