Growing up, we both knew your mom because of our friendships with Millie and Peter. It's been many years, but we still remember her as always being welcoming to your friends. We wanted to offer our condolences for the loss of you mom. May your memories comfort you during this difficult time. We are both saddened with the news of Rose's passing. We knew her well from Camp Kiawa. She was so much fun at camp making tasty, delicious meals for the girls out of "nothing". She ran a tight ship in the kitchen and all the girls appreciated her very much. We always remember her reading her "gossip" magazines in her spare time. Eileen (Welch) has sent from England, via email, a wonderful tribute to Rose which will be passed on to the family at the funeral.

My deepest sympathy to Peter, Millie, Mary and Stephanie and their families. Rose has been a wonderful friend and neighbour to our family (Jack & Dorothy Wilson) going way back into the late 1950s. My husband and I often quote your Mom on funny things she would say “Jack’s holey kadoodle pants”, or “Dorotee, what do you think of that”. I remember Mom brought Rose home from the hospital after she had Stephanie, and I was waiting as they arrived at your home. Your Mom asked me to hold Stephanie!!! I was an only child and had never held a baby before. I have visited occasionally with your Mom over the past few years when I was visiting with our youngest son who now owns my Mom & Dad’s house. We always had such great memories of the Festival of Friends, Garage Sales (she loved a great bargain) and working at Kelly’s making Bojac mayonnaise. We always had some good laughs. She loved talking about her kids and all her Grandchildren. I will always have such wonderful memories of a great family friend. Lovingly, Rod & Lynne (Wilson) Keegan, Port Dover, Ontario

My sincere sympathy to all of Rose's family. I met her some years ago at the Welcome Inn Seniors lunch on Tuesdays. She visited her "boutique" on James first and I often offered her a ride down to the Inn. We had great conversations. She always said that her family supported her,but she valued her independance, She really enjoyed her WI friends, especially Rose Harris. They shared a love of knitting. We called them Rose1 and Rose 2! We will all miss her.
