Obituary of Marija Kontic

KONTIC, Marija Peacefully on Friday, February 10, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Ivan. Cherished mother of Ivan and his wife Zeljka and the late Grace Grabar (Bruno). Beloved nona of Kevin (Paola), Melissa (Bradley), Samantha (Thom), Nilo (Shawna), Dino (Crystal), David, Adam and seven great-grandchildren. The family gratefully acknowledges the care, compassion and respect by the entire staff at Clarion Nursing Home. A heartfelt thank you to the staff and physicians at St. Joseph’s Hospital, 7th floor and Palliative Care Team for the exceptional care that everyone provided in her final days. Also a special thank you to Montgomery Lodge who played a tremendous role in the loving care of our mother. Friends and family will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home. 36 Lake Ave Dr., Stoney Creek on Wednesday February 15th 2017 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers Wednesday evening at 8:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at St. Francis Xavier Parish, 304 Hwy #8, Stoney Creek, at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery.
