Obituary of Bessie Blake

BLAKE, Bessie September 21, 1927 - March 19, 2017 Bessie was born in Aylmer, ON to Rose May Randall and Donald Bell. Predeceased by older sister Rose. Survived by younger sister Margaret. She was a loving wife to John Wallace Blake, mother to Janice Elaine (husband Joe Clement) and grandmother to Jennifer (husband Sam Taylor). She passed away at the Hamilton General Hospital on Sunday, March 19, 2017 as a result of heart failure. In her senior years, despite health issues of her own, she was able to live independently and enjoyed the company of her ever growing extended Stubbard and Maidment families. She had a fondness for her church family. She loved to spend time reading and dining at her favourite restaurants. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel.
