Obituary of Dominic Francis Chuck

CHUCK, Dominic Francis January 29th, 1932 - April 22nd, 2017 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dominic Francis Chuck surrounded by his family on April 22nd 2017, at the Hamilton General Hospital. Beloved husband and best friend of 55 years to Suzanne, cherished father of Nick (Michelle) and Megan and Joseph (predeceased); Loving Papa to Samantha, Andrew, Allie and Lexi; brother of Franklin (Diane), Eugene, Roddy, Iris Thorne (deceased), Stephanie Robinson (deceased), Urban Chuck (deceased) (Marilyn), Sonny (deceased). Brother-in-law of Janet Lashley, Ann Gumbs-Oliveira (Junior) and Helen Fuentes (deceased). Many nieces, nephews and friends with whom he built special relationships will sadly miss Dominic. Dominic F. Chuck, published author and committed educator, was among the first teachers in Trinidad and Tobago to be recruited by the Hamilton-Wentworth CDSB, where he worked as an exceptional teacher and mentor for almost 30 years. A devoted member of St. Francis Xavier Church, he held leadership roles in the Knights of Columbus as Grand Knight, District Deputy and Faithful Navigator of Bishop Ryan assembly. Visitation will take place at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday, April 27 from 5 - 9 p.m. Vigil prayers Thursday at 8:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Hwy #8 at Green Rd., Stoney Creek, on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Our Lady of The Angels Cemetery, Stoney Creek.
