Obituary of Laszlo Joseph Horvath

Horvath, Laszlo Joseph, B.Comm.

Oct 21, 1955-July 20, 2017

Four days after being diagnosed with cancer, Laszlo passed from the loving arms of his family safely into the arms of Jesus.  He was born in Budapest, Hungary, lived in Manchester England until he came to Canada, celebrating his seventh birthday on the boat over.  He was predeceased by his parents Zoltan and Elizabeth Horvath.  He leaves behind his loving wife of 21 years and best friend of 28, Cathy, His much loved son and best bud Steven Middelkoop (Mariam), and his beloved daughter Rachel.  Will be missed by his step-sister Ilona Zloch. Fondly remembered by sisters in law Mary Gowan (Don) and Marnie Spears.  “Uncle Lasz” to many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. As devoted and wonderful a husband he was, he was an even more amazing and dedicated Dad.  Whether that entailed never missing a ball game of his sons’ or daughters, or getting up at 4 a.m. after a night shift to drive his daughter and other Ancaster High students to the Leander boat club for morning rowing.  His quick wit and sarcastic humour will be missed by all his friends and family.  We will miss him more than we could have ever imagined. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at Cheyne Presbyterian Church, King and First St., Stoney Creek, on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, from 9:30 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations to Cheyne Church or the charity of your choice, would be appreciated by the family.   Online condolences and notes of sympathy may be left at www.donaldvbrown.ca

Lasz,  You loved the child I came with, and gave me another to love.  You’re my knight in shining armour.  Always your  “SH”-Cathy
