Obituary of Florence Amy French

FRENCH, Florence Amy (nee Field) Born February 22, 1922 Surrounded by family in her own home, on Saturday, July 13, 2013. Florence French peacefully passed into the loving arms of her Lord at the age of 91. Florence leaves behind a legacy of love, and will be forever remembered by her loving husband of 71 years, Marshall. Her children Roy (Diane), Ross, Carrie (Ron) Kobus, Barb (Mark) Byrnes and daughters-in-law Pat, Marilyn, and Donna. Predeceased by her son Ralph in 1993. Florence’s grandchildren Dean (Jane), Lee (Joe) O’Brien, Julie (Paul) LeClerc, Brent (Tammy), Adam (Jen), Joel (Beth), Jodi (Andrew) Miles, Steve (Michèle) Kobus, Lisa Kobus (Adam Martin), Tim and Andy Veenstra, Nathan, Ryan, Logan, Graham Byrnes. Great-grandchildren Joe, Ben, Emily French, Hayden Hockaday, Grayson O’Brien, Joshua (Jes) Brianna, Rachelle Leclerc, Tyler (Alicia Mackay), Hunter, Trinity, Halo French, Jillian, Nathan, Libby French, Isabella French (predeceased 2011), Will, Jeremy Miles, and great-great grandson Marshall LeClerc, will all hold Grandma French in their hearts. Florence is survived by her dearly loved brother Frank Field. Florence was an active member of Trinity United Church, her home away from home, and wishes in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Trinity Church Memorial Fund, Neighbour to Neighbour, or a charity of your choice. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 16th at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate Florence’s life will be held at Trinity United Church on Wednesday July 17th at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Trinity Church Cemetery.
