Obituary of John Frketich

FRKETICH, John It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of John Frketich on Monday, January 17, 2011, in his 72nd year, beloved husband of the late Anne (Bradica). John will be sadly missed by his children, John Jr. (Rosemary), Steven (Ruth), Terri (Carlos) Mesicek and David (Nancy). Cherished Pappa to Cassandra, Matthew, Christian, Steven, Kyle, Jacob, Joshua, Christine, Erica and Andrew. Dear brother to Nick and Donna (Tim) Dineen. Brother-in-law to Mary and the late Michael Bradica and the late Dragica and Steve Duvnjak. John will be missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He will also be fondly remembered by his dear friend Helen Fehir. He was a Dofasco retiree, long time member of CFU Lodge 954 and the Croatian National Home. John had a love and passion for Tambura music and you would often find him puttering in the basement making or repairing instruments. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayer Vigil on Thursday at 3 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Eugene’s Roman Catholic Church on Friday, January 21 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers as an expression of sympathy, donations to London Health Sciences Multi-organ Transplant Unit or the Juravinski Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family.
