With all our love and wonderful memories, the family of Ward Kohlberger now must say goodbye. He passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice in Hamilton, Ontario. He began his life journey on October 26, 1963 in Grimsby. Ward is survived by his beloved wife Mary Anne and he was always a devoted father to his two children, Giovanni and Maria-Sofia Kohlberger. He will also be fondly remembered by his step-daughters Samantha and Kellie Cavallin. He will be deeply missed by his father Walter Kohlberger (Linda), mother Sofia Kohlberger-Bender (Helmut) and by his four brothers Norman, Kent, Wayne (Sonja) and Richard. He will also be missed by his nephew Morgan Kohlberger and nieces Zöe and Isla Kohlberger. Ward was the proud cofounder, along with his father, of Colonial Pillars Inc. in Stoney Creek. Ward contributed, over the years, to many community organizations and activities. Special thank you to the staff and volunteers at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice for making Ward’s last days comfortable. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Dr., Stoney Creek on Monday from 6-8pm. A Celebration of Ward’s Life will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 11am in the Funeral Home Chapel. To respect Ward and Mary Anne’s wishes, there will be a private interment following the service for immediate family only.
