hello tina and ruth. i am so very sorry to hear of the passing of wendy. i can remember her at orchard park secondary with her long stride walk and sporting bell bottoms. she always had a book in hand and the largest smile ever. one of her good friends was becky colvin who lived across from us at the time. i have fond memories of her riding with your dad or my dad to first church for catechism and us smoking outside when we were done. there is one memory though that still haunts me to this day- i was at your house and she asked me if i would like a sandwich. when i saw her dressing it with just ketchup and relish i kindly passed on the offer, lol. thinking of you all and i know that smile of hers is beaming on everyone in heaven. God bless. helena

My deepest condolences to all the family. When I was 12 I moved just a few houses away from your family. My family was going through a difficult time but your home felt like my home and your family my family. Wendy was like a mother to me at a time I really needed one. I have always remembered that time and am not sure if anyone really new how much it meant to me. My life was made better by having Wendy in it if only for a brief time. She will be missed greatly and remembered fondly.

May her soul Rest In Peace.
There aren’t any words that can express your tremendous loss of your mom.
The very few exchanges we had with Wendy through emails or from comments on life cake were always warm, welcoming and sincere. She was so proud of her children and her grandsons.
Even though We didn’t meet Wendy, it feels like we know her through her son Jason. What I will always remember is her hearty smiling face from ear to ear.
Even though she isn’t here physically she will continue to live on through her children and grand children. Thinking of your family!

My condolences to all of your family. Wendy and me had some things in common and we met while volunteerring at the missions. I just thought the world of her and always looked forward to seeing her. She was funny and incredibly smart and just a beautiful person. I am shocked to hear of her passing and saddened. She was an amazing person who always had kind words for me and who got my humor. She was also a fighter and I will misd her, even though the last few years I had just seen her on facebook. She talked often about her family and with such love. I will never forget her and just can't say enough. Rest in Peace Wendy. You were an amazing person ❤ ❤7Yd5e

To the Van Dyk family and Spoelstra family my heart felt condolences for your loss. I feel this loss deeply. Wendy was a friend since we were in kindergarten. My stars, we had so much fun. I remember walking through Eastgate Mall and Wendy would be singing away to the piped in music. I never minded. She was a free spirit. I loved her very much. She was the silver lining in my cloud. I would tell her that often. May she be at peace. Until we meet again my dear friend.
