ROMANO, Giovanni

After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Giovanni passed away peacefully at Juravinski Hospital on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the age of 70. Beloved husband of Luisa for 50 years. Devoted father of Robert, Gloria Garcea (Sam), Tony (Lucia). Much loved grandfather of Anthony and Lisanna Garcea, Victoria and David Romano. Will be missed by his brothers, nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada and Italy. Giovanni will be remembered for his absolute love of family and how he enjoyed spending time tending to his flower and vegetable gardens. Special thank you to Dr. Dath, Dr. Dhesy-Thind, Dr. Shaw, Dr. Senthil and the nurses of C3 at Juravinski Hospital for all of the love and support. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Vigil prayers 2 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of The Assumption Parish on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 11 a.m. Entombment to follow in Our Lady of Hope Mausoleum at Resurrection Cemetery.
