Obituary of Helen Crichton

CRICHTON, Helen

Passed away on the morning of June 12, 2019 at St. Peter’s Hospital at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late Ian. She will be missed by her sister Bernice Ott (the late Frank). Dear mother of Lee (Luci), Darryl, Dale Poole (Greg). She will be missed by her grandchildren Laurence, Lila, Andrew, Carole, Alice, Trevor, Morgan, Jordan and great-grandchildren Ariel, Oscar, Briggs and Carter. As well, she will be fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Helen was devoted to the stock market and she retired in 1990 from RBC Dominion Securities at the close of a 35 year career as a stockbroker. Subsequently, as executrix and trustee she managed two charitable foundations, which are well known to the medical students at McMaster University. This work was perhaps her crowning glory. We are sure she will be remembered, as well, by the many recipients of these two Funds. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Friday, June 14, 2019 from 12 p.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 1 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Hamilton Cemetery. Donations to the J. W. Harry Butcher Fund or the Janet P. Muir Fund would be appreciated, not only by Helen, but the students of McMaster as well.
