John and I served together on the Stoney Creek Council in the 1960s and he went on to be one of the longest serving municipal elected officials in Ontario. A fine dedicated man who earned the respect of those who knew him. RIP John, you will be missed and long remembered.

John was one of a kind. He was not afraid to tell it like it is. Was passionate about service, had integrity galore and steered Stoney Creek well. He was a war hero and his example inspired many of us. RIP Sir!

Knowing and growing up next door to "Mr. Copeland" and playing with Arlene throughout my childhood years leaves very fond memories. In the latter years, chatting with him at "The Thistle" in Burlington. My sincerest condolences!

So sad to hear of John's passing. As a former staff member in Stoney Creek, I had the greatest respect for Councillor Copland who served his community with the highest degree of integrity, honesty and dedication. A true gentleman. He will he be truly missed by many.

This wonderful man made me so welcome when I first came to Canada for a visit. He told such interesting tales of years gone by. I will miss those "bear hugs" he had for everybody. My deepest sympathy to Joan and the family. He will certainly be missed. Jean - England

Auntie Mary, Uncle John and Arlene were and are beloved members of our extended family, and Barry and I cherish the memories we have of the wonderful times we had throughout our lives, all the Christmases and good times shared with our family and the Copland's.
