Obituary of Pat Healey

HEALEY, Patrick (Pat)

Suddenly on Thursday, October 24, 2019. Pat, in his 48th year, will be sadly missed by so many. His life partner and best friend Sherrie Piché, Stepfather to Jessica Leyte (Ryan) and Nathan Leyte (Kaycie), Goo-Dad to Hunter, Father to Stacey Drover, Poppy to Ashlyn and Madelyn, Dad to Mickey (fur baby), Son to Patrick Healey Sr. (Bernadette) and Kathy Purchase (Gord), Brother to Tina Smith (Troy), Paul Healey (Gloria) and Gordon Healey,   Step Brother to Glen Lahey (Cathy), Darrell Lahey (Kefi) and Jennifer Mallmes (Will), Grandson to Josephine Healey, Nephew to Cyril, John, Ricky, Shirley, Isabelle, Theresa and Christine. Predeceased by Grandfather Cyril Healey Sr., Uncles David Canning, Wilf Canning and Cousin Jay Healey.

Pat was born on November 3, 1970 and raised in Grand Falls, NFLD. Due to his value of education, he returned to school later in life where he earned a diploma in Computer Engineering Technology (Honours) from Sheridan College and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from Brock University. Pat was employed as the General Manager with Felton Brushes in Hamilton where he was well respected by his colleagues. Although Pat presented as a tough guy, those who got to know him would quickly come to see his kindness and generosity. He was well known as a man with a BIG personality and a BIG heart.

In his spare time, Pat was typically a homebody and enjoyed puttering in the garage, working on his motorcycle and watching true crime shows with Sherrie. Although, in a social atmosphere, he was always the life of the party and a real jokester.

It was not uncommon for Pat’s family, friends and colleagues to describe him as “the smartest guy I have ever met”. Pat was a true “thinker” and could fix or build anything, solve any problem and a true leader in any environment. Pat was taken from us way too soon and will be greatly missed by many!

Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, and in honour of Pat, please give a generous tip to a deserving person in the service industry. Pat worked very hard at various jobs throughout his life, he felt strongly about sharing his hard-earned success with others.
