Obituary of David Frank Ballok
BALLOK, David Frank
Dec. 9 1949 to Oct. 27 2019
Today I lost my husband, my best friend, my soulmate.
Loving father to the late David A. (2010) and Daniel. Cherished Papa to Victoria and Jasmine, and great Papa to Nevaeh and Sevryn. Dave fought a valiant battle against cancer. It may have destroyed his body but never his spirit. Predeceased by his parents Stephen and Annie Ballok and parents-in-law John and Mary Florio. Will be missed by Siblings Stephen (Karen) Ballok and Catherine (William) Rusnak, brother-in-law Richard (Wilhelmina) Florio and Cindy Andrushko, dear aunts, uncles and cousins.
Dave was very active at St. Francis Xavier Parish as a Knight of Columbus and Eucharistic Minister. As well, he was Eucharistic Minister at Incarnation Parish.
Having worked many years as a butcher, Dave switched careers and became a millwright at Arcelar Mittal Dofasco, from where he retired in 2011.
Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Wednesday, October 30 from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, October 31 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Vigil prayers at 7:45 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church, 304 Highway 8, Stoney Creek on Friday, November 1st 10:30 a.m. Private burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Good Shepherd or Catholic Children’s Aid Society. Online condolences and notes of sympathy may be left at www.donaldvbrown.ca
You will be always loved and always in our hearts where memories of you shall remain forever. And when we look up at the sky, and see that newest shiny star, we will know that it is you shining your light down upon us.
Love you most, Rosemary
