Obituary of Lyn Bedford

BEDFORD, Shirley Marilyn (Lyn) (B.A., B.Ed.)

Our world became a slightly darker place on November 16th with the passing of Marilyn Bedford, cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. As a high school teacher, her love of teaching spanned 40 years. Although she enjoyed travelling the world with her family, visiting such places as New Zealand, Egypt, and Europe, she also delighted in being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was a tenacious lady surviving not only the death of her husband and best friend Larry (2005) and the loss of her vision, but also a few battles with cancer. She was a beacon of support for her children, Julie, James, John, and Jane (the 4 Js), and they will miss her desperately. She was captivated with her grandchildren, Chloe, Carolyn, Kiernan, Claire, Kenzie, and Lily. She was welcoming to her children-in-law, Craig Lewis, Cari Fawcett, and Mike Ottewell, as well as Mary Shkimba. She loved and was loved, which is a life lesson for all who knew her. Her spark may have dimmed, but we will forever hold her light in our hearts. Please join us for a Celebration of Lyn’s life at her home on November 23 from 12 to 5 p.m. Notes of sympathy and condolence may be made at www.donaldvbrown.ca
