I was one of the morning 'swim ladies' for several years before we moved from the Condo 9 yrs ago. We still continued to see each other at our occasional dinners out with 2-3 other ladies. Darlene has passed away as well as Lil which now leaves just Carol Kemp and I. We also got together for a BBQ on the lake for Canada Day for several years while Werner was still with us. So we had some laughs and some misery time as you do. She surely missed her sweetheart, things were never the same but she did try to an extent. She had a lovely suite at Amica but it was not her happy place, always talked about the Condo and asked about anything new, afraid she may have missed something. Carol & I had a nice visit with her a week after her last Birthday and she shared with us the Amica luncheon but mostly the luncheon the next day @ the Edgewater so it was certainly worth the effort. I know Carol also visited her on Christmas Day, enjoyed a glass of wine till it was time to get ready to have Christmas dinner with her favourite neighbours "The Browns" who were also her table mates. As I said to Carol, she is now where she wanted to be, the physical struggles the last few years were taking a toll. I will miss the elegant lady I came to know and shared many travel pictures (not mine) with her since she got her I Pad, she would comment, "been there" or " let's go"! Betty Boersma
