I fondly remember Pat and I taking our kids and my mom there for dinner. We ordered from the menu and Vincenza said. “Oh we no have anymore. I make you something. You like it”. Our Condolences to the Silverstri family. Vincenza (and Roberto) where like our 2nd grandparents growing up. She had a big influence on my brother and I. As a child we spent a lot of time at San Remo pizzeria. She would refer to us as “ le ciliegie“ ( the cherries) During this time Vincenza showed us how to make home made “la crema “ at a young age. I still make this first receipt we learned to this day! It still will never be as good as hers... “it’s all in how you stir it” she says..” one way only, not both ways” ( her son Mario would tease her and stir it both ways lol) She liked to sing to us as well... the Italian version of the 3 little pigs in a song ( yes there is such a thing, she would tell you). As the years past and we grew older, no matter what, she still always referred to my bother and I as “ le ciliegie “ Forever in our hearts Vincenza. Until we all meet again.
