I’m so sorry to hear of Jack’s passing, but know that he was truly “ready.”
My last visit with Jack was in General Hospital when I found out he was admitted after calling Amica to let them know my Dad, George, had just passed away on December 23rd. I was shocked to learn that Jack was taken to General the same day my Dad was. For those who didn’t know, Jack and George were dinner partners since their arrival at Amica just over’s 3 years ago. My Dad talked to me about “101, 102, 103 year old Jack” each day…various things like how he was always so well dressed, walked without a walker, can hear everything well, his eyesight was good enough to read Dad the menu every day. They were good companions for each other, and I am so grateful for their friendship because it gave me peace of mind knowing my Dad looked forward to seeing him every day. When I visited Jack in the hospital that day on December 23rd, I did not tell him about my Dad’s passing, but Jack did tell me that he and George had talked about when the day would come that they might pass. Jack said both he and George were ready to go…Jack said that he had done everything he’s wanted to do…marry, have a wonderful family, successful career, travel, be active (and we’re talking active…golfing in his 104th year!) So, to the Moorehead family, I am so honoured to have known your amazing Dad/Grandpa that made my amazing Dad’s final days on this earth more enjoyable because of their friendship with each other.
