It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Julie McDonald-Hanc after a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer on December 20 2020. Julie passed quietly at home with beloved husband, soulmate and best friend Rob Hanc by her side. Predeceased by her Mother Marinne McDonald and lovingly remembered by her father Bill (Mac) McDonald, brother Bill McDonald (Gloria) and brother Dan McDonald, nephews Shayne and Justin. Also predeceased by her father-in-law Rudy Hanc. Julie will be greatly missed by her Mother-in-law Mary Hanc, Sisters-in-law Rosemarie Cumerlato and Kathy Notter (Ken Notter), nieces Samantha, Aliya and Madison, all of her aunts, uncles and cousins in the McDonald and Hanc families. Julie (Bucko) will be remembered for her extremely positive attitude towards life, her love of animals and nature, hanging out with her roller skating crew and Fortinos family. Rhino and Bear will misss their Mama terribly. She had many friends who loved her dearly, Life long best friend Roxanne Gura and her Saltfleet high school friends 1984/85. Julie’s family would like to express heartfelt thanks to family, friends, neighbours, Reverend Claudine Pesa who presided over their recent wedding and upcoming funeral, Doctor Allega and Doctors and staff at the Juravinski hospital for their support and kindness.
Julie, the pain of you not being here with me is absolutely unbearable. It's like half of me is missing. I don't know what I'm going to do without my BEST FRIEND. I will always love you. Your Husband....Rob.
Cremation has taken place and due to the Covid Pandemic, the Visitation and Funeral Service for Julie are private. The Funeral Service will be live streamed on the Donald V.
