Obituary of Mara Stanar

STANAR, Mara 

It is with heavy hearts that the family announce the peaceful passing of Mara with her two loving daughters by her side on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the age of 86.  Predeceased by her loving husband, Dusan (2020) the family is comforted knowing that they are now reunited for eternity. Loving Mother of Rada (Mirko) and Mira (Frank).  Proud Baka of Kristina and Melissa (Peter). Loving Aunt to Darko, George, Dusko and sister-in-law to Ljuba, Milica and Mira.  She will be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews and extended family in Croatia, Serbia and the United States. Mara was well known for her genuine, caring nature.  Her love of all people, her generosity and sense of humour. She loved her family more than anything in the world and extended that love to her friends and neighbours. She will be greatly missed and will remain in our hearts forever.  The family wishes to thank Dr. Desa Bibic for her exceptional care over many years.  Special, heartfelt thanks to the entire team at the Village of Tansley Woods in Burlington, where Mara was a resident for over a year and a half.   Their compassionate care and kindness will never be forgotten.  A private visitation and funeral service have taken place.
