Obituary of Luigi Nevicato

It is with intense sadness that we regret to announce the passing of Luigi Nevicato. 

Luigi passed away surrounded by his family, on Friday, January 29, 2021, in his 83rd year. Son of the late Loreto Nevicato and late Chiara Pelmonte. Beloved husband of Lucia for  60 years. Loved father of Sandro Nevicato (Victoria), Adriano Nevicato and his wife Michelle, Roberto Nevicato (Camelia), Cristina Blackborow and her husband Chad. Cherished Nonno of Alex, Rachel, Laura, Parker, Faith, Matthew, Ethan, Megan (Ross) and great-grandson Leo. Dear brother of Maria Maselli( late Donato). Luigi will also be sadly missed by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law in the Zullo family along with many nieces and nephews. Luigi and Lucia raised their children in Sault Ste Marie Ontario. They called Sault Ste Marie home for 41 years, until their move to Binbrook Ontario. Luigi was a master in his trade, as a machinist for 34 years at Soo Foundry LTD. Luigi enjoyed fishing, gardening, hockey, playing cards, spending time with family and friends and making homemade wine. However, Luigi's biggest love was for his grandchildren.  Luigi was a mentor to us all, he taught us the meaning of family, of love, of kindness, of always paying it forward.  His door was always open to share his funny stories over a glass of his homemade wine. You will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society and Kidney Foundation of Canada. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at Our Lady of The Angels Cemetery, Stoney Creek on Friday, February 5, 2021. Online condolence and notes of sympathy may be left at www.donaldvbrown.ca
