Mike and Dianne Pettapiece
Joan, Marina, Paolo and their families;
We are saddened by the passing of Vito. He was a gentle soul, he liked sincerity and genuineness in people -- and he returned those virtues. He liked to tease people in a playful way. And, my, he could tell stories . . . about life back in beautiful Positano and the area or fishing off the coast of Amalfi.
He was always up for a get-together, which sometimes even involved sharing a glass of wine while shoveling off snow on neighbouring sidewalks.
Vito was a no-nonsense kind of guy, a genuine soul. He told things as they were. He will be missed.

We were so sad to open the Post and read about Vito's passing. We knew Vito as he had done several painting jobs at our home on Berryman. I believe at the time he had his business Classico Painting--pretty sure we found his add in the Post too. Vito was such a professional. Meticulous and like your obituary says, a perfectionist. We would come home after work when he spent the day painting and would hardly even notice he had been there. Everything was neat and tidy and he always did an excellent job. I always hired him for whatever needed to be done and didn't even ask a price because he was worth whatever he asked. And he's always say, "For you, Mrs. Clifford...I give you a deal" lol. When I told my husband Vito had passed, his comment was "A real gentleman, he was". Such a kind, lovely man. I was sad when he told me he finally retired. We send your family our sincere condolences. May your memories bring you peace at this difficult time. Rest in peace Vito.
