Obituary of Mary Isabelle McChesney

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary McChesney (nee Billings) on March 17, 2021 at the age of 82. Beloved wife and best friend of Allen for 64 years. Adored mother of Alan (Jan), the late Steven (Maria), Susan Vaz (Jose), and Sandy Ridge (Robert). Cherished grandmother of Christopher, Jason, Natalie, Emily, Lauren and Katie. Dear sister of Margaret Barclay. Predeceased by her parents Isabelle and Louis Billings. Mary and Al had a life full of fun and adventure and enjoyed travelling the world with their dear friends Judy and Dennis. Mary was an avid reader, a fan of all sports and a trivia whiz. She was the past president and a lifetime member of the Lady Hamilton Club and a long time employee of the City of Hamilton. Mary was a beautiful, kind and generous woman who loved her family and lived for her grandchildren.

She will be missed but never forgotten.

Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Friday from 2-5 p.m. A private family Funeral Service, which will be livestreamed on the Donald V. Brown Facebook page, will be held on Saturday, March 27th at 10:30 a.m., followed by interment in Our Lady of The Angels Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, in accordance with the Bereavement Authority of Ontario facial mask/coverings are required. Visitors will only be accepted by scheduled appointment and will be asked to wait in their vehicle until their allotted time. Congregating on premises is prohibited.
