Obituary of William Thomas Godfrey

Peacefully with his family by his side, William passed away at the Juravinski Hospital on Thursday, April 8, 2021 in his 82nd year. Beloved husband for 60 years of Dorothy. Much loved father of Karen, Denise, and William and their spouses Kevin, Bruce and Stacey. Cherished Granda of Tyler and Kyla. William will also be remembered by his brother John (Florence) of Vancouver, along with his brothers and sisters and extended family in Canada, Ireland and England. Cremation has taken place. After arriving in Canada William received his degree from McMaster University, and had distinguished career as a Chartered Accountant for Westinghouse until he retired in 2001. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Thursday, April 15th from 2 – 4 p.m. A private Funeral Service will follow in the Funeral Home Chapel. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, in accordance with the Bereavement Authority of Ontario facial mask/coverings are required. Please visit the funeral home website (www.donaldvbrown.ca) to register your attendance for the visitation due to limited space availability and to leave notes of sympathy and condolence. Visitors will only be accepted by scheduled appointment and will be asked to wait in their vehicle until their allotted time. If you have not registered, you will not be admitted. Congregating on premises is prohibited. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Firestone Clinic at St. Joseph’s Hospital, would be appreciated by the family.
