To the entire family, I send my most sincere condolences. I have no words. I am numb and heart broken. I have known Winsome (Maxine) for many years, before knowing many other members of her family. Like her, her entire family is amazing. One of my most memorable moments with Maxine was after her and I spent the night watching over Cindy, who wasn’t well; Maxine laughing uncontrollably when I appeared from the kitchen with breakfast. She couldn’t stop laughing as she tried to utter her words after hearing me in the kitchen whipping eggs to make what she thought was going to be a simple fried egg breakfast. She called to me as top chef while still laughing profusely. Our last conversation, she called me from Aunt Merle’s to ask me what kind of cheese I had used on a pita bread treat I made up at the cottage, on a visit with her and Cindy. She said she tried making the treat, but every cheese she tried was too salty. On that visit to the cottage, I remember Cindy being over joyed, randomly repeating, “my sister is here. It’s been such a long time we haven’t been to the cottage together.” Winsome would not stay still; always finding something to do in the yard- planting plants, clearing weeds or raking areas of the property. Her last text to me, in her thoughtful unselfish style, she said, “Give thanks today is rainy, the gardens need the rain... it is going to be an excellent day.. to Him be the glory, great things He as done and will do.” I hear her soft voice echoing in my ear. I see her smile. Her and her warm disposition is etched in my memory and heart forever. Again, to the Cain family, I send my deepest condolences.
Love always Ericka

Winsome will be missed dearly all the years I have known my cousin she is always level headed she never speak negative about anyone, always giving good advice to the people she cares about, and I should say even if she doesn’t know you she stays positive. Her mantra was all about getting a good education, winsome is always aiming for the best for herself and her family. I know her mom (aunt Muril) was so proud of her when we communicated she usually says I don’t know when Maxine Is going to get married. Winsome is at peace now. So family the joy she brings to the cherished it. Oh even though she was sick during the Christmas holidays she say to me sister sonia I have to bake for my nieces and nephews because they are looking forward to it and I say to her you’re sick they will understand. What’s who she was always caring.

A long time ago when Winsome and I were both just starting out we came together as part of the research team at the Hamilton Social Planning and Research Council. Winsome was a joy to work with, a wonderful colleague and an even nicer person. We both moved on from SPRC and lost touch but just yesterday, before we read of Winsome's passing, my wife Debbie and I were speaking of Winsome, We celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary on August 16 and it was Winsome who contributed to our wedding by hand sewing all of the bridesmaid dresses - which of course were awesome. On the day of the wedding one of the seams had come loose and Winsome, all dressed for the wedding for she of course was a guest, showed upped and saved the day for the bridesmaid! We are very sorry for your loss but we were very fortunate to have known Winsome and her memory stays with us every time we look at our wedding photographs.
Please accept our sincere condolences,
Ms. Deborah Edwards and Dr. Richard Csiernik
