Ab The Neighbour - 1970 to 2001
We were a recently married couple when we moved in next door to this farm type who had a constant stream of visitors to his residence.
Reason - A single guy with no restraining hand as the family lived far enough away at the far end of the farm. It soon became very apparent that Albert Green (Ab to all) was one of the most affable personalities one could wish to meet & which would bend over backwards to help when asked.
As a neighbour we were given free rein to walk the farm property which enriched our family immensely, from birth to university our girls and friends roamed at will, and the ponds were a great attraction for the dogs. Great Memories!
With the passing of time Ab struck gold - Marilyn and Ab cemented a relationship which resulted in different driveway visitors. Proof of that situation was a knock on the door and there was Ab dressed for ?, but in trouble, as he had a necktie in his hand and he was flummoxed as he was insistent on a 'Windsor Knot' as it was the classist. He got it! I do know for a fact that he kept the knot intact for future use.
From horseshoe competitions, to clearing snow, to free produce, Ab was a dependable neighbour. What more could one ask for. He will be missed. Rest in Peace Ab.
