I will miss Joanne (‘Gramma’ Joanne) deeply. I have many fond memories to look back on as throughout my childhood I grew up next door to Klaas and Joanne. Joanne would greet my brother and me off of the bus and welcome us home after school. She often watched my brother and me throughout our early years. I will remember Joanne’s kindness as she took care of those with special needs providing respite and care to children and their families. I will remember her faith and Love for Jesus, especially as she took us to Camp Oneida! The last time I had dinner with Klaas and Joanne she shared the meaning of ‘Gezellig.’ This is how I felt when I was around Joanne and I am sure others as well. Gathering with ‘Gramma’ Joanne always felt cosy, close, and you always felt a sense of belonging. The phrase, ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ comes to mind and I am forever grateful for how she built into my life. The quote from the obituary “Joanne poured love abundantly into each and every person who knew her” cannot be more true. Most sincere sympathies to the Visser family and friends.

My grandma was my favorite person in the world, (as I'm sure many others favorite as well).. I have so many memories with her and I don't have one bad one. No matter how down or how bad I felt, I know I could go and visit with her and I'd leave happy as can be, she just made everything better, she would always make everyone feel welcome and loved. She was definitely an angel and I miss her so much already,

She was absolutely the best Grandma. Everyone thinks their Grandma was special but mine was the most special. No one met her without loving her and having her return their love in abundance. There are a million memories for me to took back upon and for that I am forever grateful. Thank you Lord for giving me Alberdina Johanna for my Grandma. I love you Grandma. Till we meet again ❤️

Hello Klaas and family, When Klaas fixed my car he would send me in to visit Joanne. She was always so welcoming and down to earth. I really enjoyed our visits. I have thought of her and Klaas over the years with fondness. RIP
