Jay was a good friend and sharp as a tack in the business world. His sense of humour was always present and we enjoyed many light hearted moments.
To say he left us too soon would be an understatement but the laughter we shared will echo through the years!

My heartfelt condolences to the O’Donnell family. Jay and I worked together in Minneapolis and I have fond memories of his excursion to the Mall of the Americas to purchase a doll from the American Girl store, and proudly walk through the office carrying the bag for all to see! He was a smart and caring man who always spoke of his children with great pride and joy. A bright light who left us too early.

A light that burns twice as bright burns half as long. Oh Jay I miss you. I miss talking to you about business, interior design, fashion, architecture and our kids. We also loved to talk about hockey. Not professional hockey but our kids hockey. Actually the very first kids hockey game I went to was to see Jay play at a local arena in Hamilton. He must have been four years old and I was about nine. But I still remember laughing so much watching Jay tear after the puck, falling down but getting right back up and going after it again. That was our Jay alway chasing goals. He was so so smart susessful and kind to everyone. I miss his smiling eyes and his quick whit. I still call your phone to hear your voice. I still look at your text messages. I can’t believe you are gone. I will always love you cuz.

To all the O´Donnell family. I´m so sorry and shocked by the loss of a great person who was and will always be remembered as a kind friend. Many fond memories of a good friend who was a positive influence in my life. I believe it is true that the good go home sooner. Jay will always live on in our hearts. His quick witted comebacks always put a smile on my face. He was a neighbour growing up and he was a neighbour around the corner as we both grew families. My prayers are with him and all his family and friends during this time of sudden deep sorrow. God bless you always Jay and thank you for your presence in our lives that was a great gift. You will be sadly missed.

It is with great sadness that we extend our love and condolences at the passing of Jay. As children we shared such great memories from the candy table at Grandma’s house to the wonderful New Years Day and then Canada Day parties at Joan and Uncle Gord’s house. As we grew up and had families of our own our paths rarely crossed but we heard about your wonderful accomplishments from Uncle Tom and Aunt Sue. You will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
Love,
Julie, Rob, Ryan and Justin Dunklin (McKay)

Jay both Domenica and I will miss forever your gentle and generous way. The true character of a man is always measured accurately by children. My girls adored jay and loved being around him . You will be sorely missed dear friend. I hope true peace has found its way into your wonderful heart.
