Obituary of Alice May Hadden

HADDEN, Alice May Peacefully, at Wentworth Lodge, on Saturday, February 12, 2011 in her 98th year. Predeceased by her husband Homer (1990). Dear mother of Victoria Hadden of Toronto and Linda and her husband Ken Coombes of Dundas. Loving grandma of Carrie Barr and her husband Joe, Brian Coombes and his wife Megan. Adored great-grandma of Jack, Owen, Lauren and Benjamin. Will be missed by her brother Ray Oliphant (Betty). Predeceased by siblings Keith Oliphant, Tom Oliphant and Sybil Gillespie. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews and a dear friend to many. Alice will be sadly missed. She treasured every day and always looked for the silver lining in every cloud. Alice was born in Stoney Creek and was a lifetime member of Vinemount Women’s Institute. We would like to thank the wonderful staff of Wentworth Lodge for their loving care. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Friday, February 18, 2011 from 12 noon until the time of the Memorial Service at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alice’s memory to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
