Obituary of Gary Arthur Greenland

With heavy hearts, the family of Gary A. Greenland announce his passing at the Juravinski Hospital,  on Friday, February 25, 2022, at the age of 78, after a courageous battle with cancer. Survived by the love of his life and soulmate Janis (nee Michaluk), sons Garry Jr. (granddaughters Abigail and Alexandra) and Jason (Jennifer), (grandsons Thomas and Adam). Gary is predeceased by his brothers Ted, Douglas and brother-in-law John Michaluk. Survived by sisters-in-law Jeannie Greenland and Sharon Bingham. Survived by life long best friends Joe and Marjorie Crawford. Gary will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Gary retired from Stelco Steel’s Mobile Shop in 2000. He was well respected by all he worked with as a peer and Supervisor.  He fondly shared many stories of his time at Stelco. Out of all of his accomplishments, the title of “Grandpa “was his proudest. Gary embodied the definition of a true gentleman. All that knew him, loved him. Our hope is that his legacy of kindness and generosity will live on in the lives he touched. As per Gary’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
