My memories of Peg are mostly from my childhood at Barton Stone or my mother and Peg, laughing together. I was delighted to see Peg three years ago when Jean brought her to my mom’s visitation. She was as warm and lovely as I remembered from when I was a little girl. She led a long and full life and I know you will all have wonderful memories of her. My sincere sympathies to your family. Jane (Easden) Craibbe.

My thoughts are with your family today as you celebrate the wonderful woman that "Grandma" Bethune was to so many of us. I cherish especially the memories of fun times at the cottage together, her delicious baking and warm hugs. Her love and kindness lives on in so many people whose lives she touched. I'm lucky to have been one of them. -Melinda xo

So many wonderful times with "Grandma" Bethune at the cottage - playing cards, eating big meals! She was much loved by all Greg's friends, so giving and caring. I will cherish those memories. My love and condolences to the family.

Jean, Tom, Barb, Jamie, and family
I loved your mother. She was one of my favourite ladies.
With her beautiful smile and twinkling eyes, she radiated an engaging, positive demeanour. This was felt, and witnessed by all, regardless of age or circumstance.
In latter years, our mothers' friendship deepened, resulting from their similiar backgrounds and as farm wives. They shared laughs; they also reminisced about friends
and acquaintances.
While you will mourn her loss for the rest of yours, please take comfort in the fact she is now, at peace, with your father.
I like to think that both of our mothers, in heaven, are engaged in an enjoyable, but lively game of bridge. More importantly, they are discussing their next shopping foray!!
Love and comfort,
Jane Whaley and Gene Snow

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the Bethune family. How fortunate we both were to have known your mother for so many years. From the early days of Don being welcomed to the Bethune family home, to being invited as a young couple to your Christmas Eve gatherings, to wonderful fun times at the Bethune cottage... Your mother and dad were always so welcoming, gracious and inclusive. Mrs. Bethune was always cheerful, a style icon and a true family matriarch. She will be dearly missed.

Sincere condolences to the immediate family. What a wonderful "aunt", Margaret was. Her nephew Don (my late husband) brought me into a wonderful Bethune clan. What a gift!
Aunt Margaret's special warmth, hospitality and sense of fun will always be remembered by me and my family. In recent years we enjoyed chats and dinners together even discussing the Blue Jays games.. I know the family will have much to honour and celebrate even as she will be missed.

I always called Auntie Peg " The Queen " because she reminded me of Queen Elizabeth. She shared the same inner strength and unknowingly was a Mother to many of us. What a beautiful long life she had and look what she left behind. A family so rich in love to carry on her incredible example on how life should be lived.

I am so sorry to hear the passing of Aunt Margaret. My thoughts and prayers are with the the family and she will be missed dearly. Aunt Margaret accomplished so many things in the time she was with all of the people she knew and she always walked in to a room and had a wonderful way of lighting it up with her presence.
