Suddenly, at his residence on Sunday, April 10, 2022, in his 71st year, Roy passed away peacefully in the presence of his beloved wife of 48 years, Sondra and his family. He will be greatly missed and always loved and remembered dearly by his son Michael and his wife Ashley, his daughters Talya Babstock and her husband Peter, and Erikka Hitchcock and her husband Larry. World's Best “Grampa” of Alice, Michael, Hobbes, Abbi and Sawyer. Dear brother of Ken (Sue), Debbie Gale (Pat) and brother-in-law of Sylvia Sixsmith (Jim) and Guy Matthews. Predeceased by siblings Cynthia and Anthony. Roy will be forever missed by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Roy was a dependable man, who could fix anything. His strong hands built many cottages, gently cradled his grandchildren, and caught mostly small, but some big fish. His love for travel, adventure, and the outdoors took him many places and to many casinos. With his wife always by his side, Roy has explored all of Canada and nearly every American state, Europe, the Middle East and the beaches of the Caribbean. Never one to shy away from a good road-trip, Roy enjoyed many getaways fuelled by hot dog stands, lobster rolls and beignets. We love you and will miss you endlessly.
I got you to hold my hand
I got you to understand
I got you to walk with me
I got you to talk with me
I got you to kiss goodnight
I got you to hold me tight
I got you, I won't let go
I got you to love me so, forever.
