Obituary of Ian William Wright

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Ian at the age of 55, following a courageous and brave battle with metastatic brain cancer. Ian passed away peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital on Friday, June 24, 2022 surrounded by his family and life companion/best friend Glynis. Survived by his parents Maureen and Billy, his sisters Kelley (Jason) and Lynda (John), nieces, Hilary and Lauren, nephews Declan and Conor, his son Liam, a host of family and friends and Bronson, his beloved dog.  Ian will be greatly missed by many relatives and friends here in Canada as well as Northern Ireland, his place of birth. Ian was best known for his, independent spirit, fun loving nature, his hard work ethic and kind heart, with always a soft spot for the underdog. He made friends easily and was always willing to lend a helping hand anytime. Ian enjoyed building, working on renovations, often sharing photos of his latest projects, music, socializing with friends and walks with his many dogs over the years. Our family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses and social workers at Hamilton General Hospital, Juravinski Hospital and St. Peter’s Hospital for your exceptional care and compassion throughout Ian’s journey. Visitation will be held at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Wednesday, June 29th from 5-7 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, June 30th at 11 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and/or Hamilton SPCA.  Notes of sympathy and condolence may be left at www.donaldvbrown.ca
