Obituary of Marvin Kenneth Broughton
Born and raised in Stoney Creek, Marvin passed away peacefully at Arbour Creek Care Centre Thursday, July 14, 2022 in his 99th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Doris (nee Staplehurst), son and daughter-in-law Doug and Donna, and grandson Michael Broughton. Also predeceased by second wife Bernice and by his very special family friend Lillian. Dear brother of and predeceased by Willma (Joe) Bujas and Claude (Joan) Broughton. Lovingly remembered by nephews Bob (Diana) and Danny (Cathy) Bujas and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Marvin will be infinitely missed by granddaughter Tammy (Sean) Cochrane and Tara (Christian) Reaume as well as unwaveringly devoted friends, Jim and June Sanderson. Marv proudly served overseas during WWII and spent 35 years following that with Hydro-Stoney Creek Branch, he was an avid ballplayer and Blue Jays fan as well as a long-time member of the local bowling league, Royal Canadian Legion and The New Horizons Club. Many heartfelt thanks to the staff and friends at Arbour Creek Care Centre who provided exceptional care, comfort, and laughs. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion.
