Dear Linda and Family:
When Mieke called me to tell me that John had passed away I had just finished my devotions. I shared them with her, and both said that they were so appropriate to John's passing. ( quoting from Max Lucado)
" We don't like to say goodbye to those whom we love. Whether it be at a school or a cemetery, separation is tough. It is right for us to weep, but there is no need for us to despair. They had pain here. They have no pain there. They struggled here. They have no struggles there. You and I might wonder why God took them home. But they don't. They understand. they are, at this very moment, at peace in the presence of God...
When it is cold on earth, we can take comfort in knowing that our loved ones are in the warm arms of God. And when Christ comes, we will hold them too. "
We remember John always with a smile on his face, a kind word to share with all, and always ready to share one of his dry humorless jokes.
Sadly there has been little communication lately with John, but we always had constant updates from Linda. Many, many prayers were said for John, but now prayer is needed for Linda, and the family, that their faith, strength and support from loved ones will carry them through the difficult days ahead.
You will be missed
