We are very sad to learn of the loss of Gord. He was a devoted member of our team at Fruitland Manufacturing for many years. His colleagues at work knew him as a kind man who always had a positive demeanor, a peaceful smile and a very conscientious approach in everything he did. Our sincere condolences.

I met Gord through the Hipkiss family and enjoyed seeing him at many family celebrations over the years. Gord always had a smile and was so kind and fun to be around. My condolences to Gord's children, grandchildren, his sister Brenda, Annette, Ed and family, Sean and Taryn and family, and Richard Hipkiss and the many other family and friends I may not know personally. Gord, I can picture the reunion in the afterlife with Irene and your parents and others who have gone before you. Was a pleasure knowing you.

I first met Gord when I was in kindergarten and we have been good friends since that day in 1959. When Gord's family moved from Mountain Avenue to Upper Walker, my neighbourhood, we became inseparable as young teenagers. We did everything young teenage boys did back in those days, with no shortage of getting into mischief, although most of it harmless. After graduating highschool we managed to stay in touch even though our lives took different paths. In later years Wednesday night dinners out with "the boys" became a regular occurance. Gord, Ed Brown, Tim Stremble and I became a regular Wednesday evening fixture at some unsuspecting watering hole. We would share stories of growing up in Stoney Creek over some wings, a couple of pints and much laughter. Gord had a great sense of humour and always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. I am fortunate to have known Gord and proud to say he was my friend for 63 years. I will miss him immensely and remember him always. My wife Janet and I offer our deepest condolences to Brenda, Michael, Chris, and his entire extended family.

My condolences on your loss.
I have fond memories of Gord when we were much younger. There were Friday night euchre games with a few drinks with our spouses, and Agnes and Alex. They were fun times. When Michael was a toddler, he was so cute! Bob and I decided it was time to start our family. We could only spend time together on brief family visits after that.
I have always wished the best for Gord and hope he had a good relationship with his boys.
My heart goes out to Chris, Michael, and everyone who loved Gord at this time.
With love,
Marion Stewart
