My dearest Roxanne, you strived to live life on your own terms and stay true to yourself for your entire life. I learned from that. I will always smile when I remember those times we laughed so hard at something silly we had tears streaming down our faces. Your love for mischief...or "cow tipping" as we called it...your delightful sense of humor, your intelligence, and - above all - the way you expressed your love through unwaivering loyalty is woven not just into my memories, but into my life as well. You are part of who I am, and that will never change. You know I'll find ways not just to celebrate your life, but to to express your wonderful personality whenever the chance is there. Thank you, my dear friend. For you, I hope you find Heaven to be a sandy Beach in Trinadad where, reunited with your mom, the sky is blue, you're sipping on a Singapore Sling, BBQ going, and great music playing...like this song you loved so much, by Bill Withers: Lovely Day. I have no doubt you're going to be a very mischivous angel. And at those moments, when the humor or irony of something makes me laugh, I'll know you're there pulling the strings and chuckling. My amazing friend, my sister, heaven has gained another angel. As I look back at our lifetime of many shared memories together, I wish I could have just another with you today. Your laugh always resonated when we were getting into trouble. As I sit here thinking of the last time we spoke, the sound of your laugh gives me the solace to continue. The last time we met up was on one of our recent trips to Trinidad, although I was sworn to secrecy about our many adventures. I will share one of the last pictures we took together. I recall us discussing the next trip back to the shores of Maracas Beach. Roxanne has left an impact on all that knew her. She has left us with courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in our hearts. Rest in peace until we meet again.

Roxanne, you are now at peace. Please know that you were loved and appreciated by so many of us, we will miss you but we know that you are in a much better place. I am really going to miss your help making our traditional pastelles this Christmas, they may not be as tasty. Rest in heavenly peace my dear until we meet again.
