Obituary of Shirley Anne Love

It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family of Shirley Anne Love announce her passing on Friday, December 16th, 2022, in her 81st year. Shirley married the love of her life, Jim, 58 years ago and together raised a beautiful family of 5 children, 15 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Cherished mother to Cathy (Gene), Scott (Rebecca), Lori (Billy), Jamie (Dave), and Danny. Treasured nana to Anthony, Christopher, Meagan (Cam), Jake, Joel, Kyle, Ryan, Jordan, Madison, Sydney, Ben, Jacob, Michaela, Caleb, and Camryn, and great-grandmother to Rowan and Hayes. Beloved sister to Patricia and loved dearly as a sister by Jim’s sister, Sharon. Shirley is predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Rose, and 3 siblings, Ernie, Lillian, and Jack. Shirley also has many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. Shirley was a dedicated employee of DARTS until her retirement. She will always be remembered for her vibrant personality, huge heart, and beautiful smile. Shirley was the life of the party, enjoying karaoke, and dancing along to Jim’s guitar with friends and family as recently as just a few short weeks ago. She will be greatly missed by everyone who was blessed to have known her. The Love family would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to the Hamilton Police Service and the hundreds of volunteers who tried so desperately to bring her home safely to her loving family. The response was overwhelming. Our hearts are shattered, but we will always take comfort in knowing that Shirley was so loved in her wonderful community. In keeping with Shirley’s wishes, cremation has taken place and her life will be celebrated privately.
