To my God parents, I will miss you very much but now you are with Uncle John. Thank you for always giving me a Barbie on Christmas that is one of my fondest memories. And I still have them. And every year at Christmas we always have champagne and Orange juice. And that memory will continue on in my life.
Love you both

I was very sorry to learn of Barb's passing. She was there from my first days at the Faculty, back in the fall of 1979, when I joined the Biomaterials group. Barb was the Executive Assistant working for the head of the group, Dr Dennis Smith, at the time and keeping the rest of our group in line. I cannot say enough about how much her pleasant personality and constant sense of humour that kept things more or less in perspective added to the friendly atmosphere that was shared by all in the group. It was always a treat to come into the office and have Barb there, sharing her thoughts and comments on the happenings, both good and not so good, in the Faculty and life in general. I hadn't seen Barb for some time after my and her retirements. I only hope that she and John had many pleasant years in post-retirement life. Again, my deepest condolences to you all, her family members.
Sincerely, Bob Pilliar

To Barb's family. Your mother was an amazing person, an incredible and kind person. she was the Biomaterials Department admin support when I was recruited to that department in the Faculty of Dentistry in 1993. I worked with her very closely up to 2014 on many projects. She made all the difference in my early career. made going to work fun because she was "Always shinning a light" that was her saying. Well, "shine a light at that". I know that she loved all her family, as got to know about all of you in my daily conversations with her. Likewise, she knew all my family and watched our two children grow up and share in many of the departmental/faculty xmas luncheons. My condolences and warm thoughts are offered to all of you at this sad time. Now she is shinning lights on all of us, and god knows the world can use it. Dearest Barb, please rest in peace. Paul Santerre, prof. of Biomaterials, U of T.

Dear Kenneth, Gregory, Christopher, and families. I'm sending you my condolences and prayers and hope that you find peace knowing that your mom is back in the arms of your dad. I'm sorry that I cannot make the trip to Stoney Creek, but that I'm with you on spirit. Love, Aunty Kathy.

I am greatly saddened by the passing of my very old and dear friend Barbara. We worked in the Biomaterial Department at the Faculty of Dentistry for many years. I still remember the many times before computers came into fashion of Barb typing away on her old electric typewriter the many grant applications that were cut and pasted to forms for the professors in the department. Also the many departmental parties for staff and students to celebrate special occasions that Barb organized and shopped for the food and drink that were needed. She was well liked by the staff in the faculty. Then I remember when she got her dogs and trained them to race. I would hear of her successes after her return from races in Canada and the USA and all the ribbons the dogs had won and old speed records that were broken. There are so many other wonderful stories that I could share about Barb, but I will stop for now. I will miss you dearly my old friend Barb. Rest in peace Barb and say hello to John from us when you meet up with him.
