Obituary of Clara Collins
(nee Duke)
Peacefully passed away at the Arbour Creek Care Centre on January 27th, 2023 at the age of 88. Predeceased by her husband Everett. Survived by her loving partner and best friend, Art Tompkins. Mother of Brenda (Fred). Grandmother of Michelle, Felicia (John) and Nicholas (Jessy). Great-grandmother to Jordan and Sophia. Survived by her sister Lorraine, sister-in-law Patsy, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Hugh and Kathleen Duke. Predeceased by her brothers Ed (Irene), Bernie, Clarence and brothers-in-law Bill and Ray (Audrey). Also predeceased by her sister-in-law Lillian (Bill). A very special thank you to Art and his family for their unconditional love and support in Clara's life. For most of her life Clara was a member of the Stoney Creek Legion Branch 622. She took great pride in being a member of the Colour Party, volunteering for Legion functions and participating in the Poppy Campaigns. The family would like to thank the staff at Arbour Creek Care Centre for their kindness and compassion shown towards Clara. Visitation will be held at Donald V Brown Funeral Home on Thursday, February 2nd from 4-7 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, February 3rd at 1:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Stoney Creek.
