Al, Right now, I am picturing all of us sitting in the farm kitchen laughing (and groaning) at your jokes. Your passion for reading, and how I would tell you not to buy Grisham’s latest book and you always replied, “already bought it and read it! And most importantly Al, how you and Arlene, accepted me into your family. Thank you for being a part of my life for the last few years, you have enriched it with your warmth and knowledge.

My heart goes out to you Arlene, Tom and James. When someone with as large a personality and character as Al; you can't help but feel the loss. He always made me feel so welcome in your family, and every time he visited our farm it was interesting to see it through his eyes (and his camera lens.) Al was such a wealth of knowledge, and experience and historical facts. Al never left a conversation without having an effect; giving me that generous smile, or a witty joke, or imparting some random fact that left me wondering how I lived so long without knowing 'that fact'...when all is said and done, he certainly left his mark on all of us. ~Peter Dillon

Met Al through the Friends of Battlefield. He was a great supporter of The Friends and many other community agencies. Always ready to volunteer and always had a (mostly bad) joke. A genuine nice guy and he will be remembered fondly and greatly missed. RIP Al.
