When I graduated in 1977, Eva was the person who helped me become a confident RN. In her quiet way she taught us the ropes on 6 Surgical. I think of her often and enjoyed exchanging Christmas cards each year. Rest in peace Eva, knowing that your caring nature lives on in many nurses from St Joe’s!

My sincere condolences to Eva’s loved ones. I met Eva when I was a 21 year old new grad. She was a terrific role model for getting the work done efficiently and properly the first time. She was a steadfast and reliable colleague and we ended up having a lot of chuckles, some which made her blush! Eva loved her work and encouraged me to apply to an opening in the OR. She told me I would love it and boy was she right. I stayed for 30 years! I thought of her often in my work and I owe her much respect for her dedication to the physicians and their patients.

My condolences to Eva's family. Eva was a kind and generous sole. She never missed an opportunity to be helpful and give so much of herself to co workers and friends. I am so thankful for her friendship and wonderful teaching skills. I enjoyed working with Eva for many years. Eva was an asset to all staff at St Joe's and missed very much when she retired.

Aunty Eva was not actually related but was Aunty Eva just the same. She was our baby sitter as little ones. She was the Greene family's dinner guest every Saturday for so so many years. She consumed a great deal of tea and was a fierce 'Scrabble' player vs our mom, Anne Greene. Eva always kept score! Most importantly, she was a friend of our mom and was there for her - in good times and bad. And that friendship never wavered. Growing up , Aunty Eva was part of the fabric of our lives....Saturday evening... a simple meal - hamburgers or spaghetti or home made french fries with fried eggs, kids running around planning for the night, the kettle hot for another fresh pot, dad coming home not always sober, and Eva and mom battling it out on the 'Scrabble' board. What a valuable friend to have. When my mom developed dementia and I spent a few weeks with her, the one thing she wanted was that I could go get Aunty Eva so they could have a visit. Gladly. As one Greene, I will say we certainly appreciated and loved Eva and our hearts go out to all the Bethels especially Sam and his family.
