Obituary of David William John MacNaught

May 29th, 1938 - June 6, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dad Dave (Pops) in his 86th year at St. Peter’s Palliative care unit in Hamilton, Ontario. Dave joins his beloved wife Marilyn, who passed in 2012, who he missed every day. He is survived by his daughter Kimberly Woodhead and her husband Phil, daughter Lori Cantelo, son Thomas MacNaught and wife Vicki, and son James MacNaught and wife Fiorina. He loved his grandchildren Katelynn (Mattias) and Cody (Jessica), Jessica (Ryan) and Abby (Jordan), Olivia and Cole and great-grandchildren Kinnleigh, Conor and Elisa, Violet and Daphne. He will also be missed by his many cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Dave was a family man, and together with Marilyn supported and encouraged their children in everything they did growing up and in their adult life. Many thanks to our extended family at St. Peter’s Palliative unit. The care, compassion and love Dave and his family received over the past year eased his journey. A very special thank you to Dr. Taniguchi, Traci, Ashley, Dan, Karen and Lisa. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Peter’s Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
