Obituary of Mirka Zegarac

Ascended to be with the Lord on Monday October 30, 2023 in her 98th year. Reunited with her loving husband Petar Zegarac (2013). Devoted mother of George (Holly) and Mike (Maria). Mirka was a loving baba and will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Michael (Emily), Christopher, Alexander, and Joshua. Mirka recently celebrated the birth of her first great-grandchild, Nathan. Lovingly remembered by family, Kumovi and friends in Canada, Serbia and the United States.

The family would like to thank all the caring and supportive staff at Ridgeview LTC home, where Mom called home for the last 10 years. Mom will be remembered for instilling a strong work ethic and strong moral behaviour in her children and grandchildren. Mom and Dad were great role models in how to share a blessed life with those less fortunate and were always willing to sacrifice in support and aid of their family. Despite the challenges and adversity Mom faced throughout her life, she always found a way to persevere and move forward. Like many of Mirka’s generation, life brought many challenges and hardship, sprinkled with moments of happiness and laughter. Mom’s deep laughter was contagious and will be missed.

In accordance with Mirka’s wishes, a private funeral service will take place.
