Sincere condolence to the Roger's family, I like many others, played Police Minor baseball and hockey growing up in Hamilton in the late 50's and 60's. Since I lived in the country, well beyond the mountain bus service, many times Wilf would drive me home from the Hamilton Forum after hockey. This was just one of many examples of Wilf's kindness, which was a reflection of his outstanding character, that I will never forget. Rest in Peace Wilf.

Condolences to Sue and Buck's family. I grew up playing Police Minor baseball and hockey and all who did have Wilf to thank. He was a true gentleman. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

My deepest condolences to the Rogers family. I worked with "Buck" in my early years in the early 80's in the Patrol Wagon beat "180", picking up the drunks and responding to the disturbances. I always enjoyed my time with him. May he rest in peace.

I offer my condolences to the Rogers family. I worked with Wilf in late 70's and early 80's on a shift out of Central Station. Wilf brought a "senior guy" maturity to the squad. As others have already attested, Wilf was a real gentleman and had a great sense of humour. I enjoyed his company again at the many breakfast gatherings at the Legion. May he rest in peace.

My condolences to "Buck's" family. He is a tremendous loss to so many people. I remember Wilf from my time in the Police Minor Hockey league which he ran, long before I was old enough to become a police officer. So many of my fellow officers would have the same memory of that. Wilf was a true gentleman, and a stellar person !

Our deepest sympathy to Sue and the Rogers' family. I was fortunate to have played Police Minor Baseball and Hockey as a youth, and we all got to know Wilf. When I joined the Hamilton Wentworth Regional Police I had the pleasure of reuniting with Wilf. He was a gentleman and acted as a mentor for many of us by setting an example. I had the pleasure of playing hockey once again in the HPS Hockey League and with the Tournament Team. We had many laughs together; he was sincere and such a decent man. He went out of his way to assist those less fortunate through his numerous volunteer commitments. May you rest in peace and we will see you again Buck!

My sincere condolences to the Rogers family. Wilf was one of the most kind and helpful persons I knew. I first met him when I was playing Police Minor Hockey when I was a kid. My dad knew him as well. I then met him again when I joined the HWRP in 1979. Wilf was always willing to help others professionally, socially or as a volunteer.
God Bless

I got to know "Buck" after we went regional in 1973. Buck had been at the old Sheman Avenue station for years running he amateur sports but the poweres that be decided at the time to put him back on the streeet were he was like a lost soul.
First and foremost, Buck was a real gentleman. You couldn't help but like him. Secondly, with the help and encouragement from Buck, many kids in the amateur sports got to see their dreams come true.
My condolences to Buck's family. May he rest in peace.

Sue and Family. My condolences. ‘Buck’was my first custody office on C squad out of Central. I have recollections of young men coming into custody - recognizing Wilf from playing Police Minor sports - and apologizing to him for their actions that brought them into contact with the police.
Respectfully. Scott Balinson

We’ve lost a true gentleman. So kind, so giving and so proud of his family, his community and his friends. There were so many people proud to call “Buck” their friend. Never a want or need for promotion and such a dedicated police constable. I don’t recall ever hearing of “Buck” booking off sick. May his memories remain forefront in the hearts and minds of all who knew him, especially his family of course. My deepest condolences to all. Respectfully, Mike Cole

I worked with Wilf years ago, when I first started as a police office in 1973. He was always friendly and amicable to work with.
