Obituary of Annie (Joanne) Poos

Peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Bob Kemp Hospice on Thursday, November 30, in her 89th year. Predeceased by Piet, her husband and true love of 58 years. Loving mother of daughter Maryann and her husband David Hughes, and daughter Michelle Anderson. Proud Oma to her “4 diamonds”, Jennifer (Cameron), Melissa (Stephen), Jacob (Joanna) and Blake. Annie will also be fondly remembered by her brothers and sisters along with many nieces and nephews in Canada, Holland, and the United States. She was especially close with her sister and brother-in-law Truus and Henny Klaassen, and her brother Henk Cillessen, who were always there to love and support her.

Special thanks to the staff and volunteers at Bob Kemp Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Annie and her family. As per Annie’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

Family and friends are invited to join us for a celebration of Annie’s life on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at The Powerhouse, 21 Jones St., Stoney Creek from 1:00 to 4:00 pm., with tributes and speeches to take place at 2:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Bob Kemp Hospice or Royal Botanical Gardens would be appreciated by the family.
